Albuquerque Move Update

Well, it has taken so long to update because we have been without internet for a week, yikes! :-) It has been torture for some of us :-) hee hee hee.

We made to Albuquerque on Sunday the 21st around 6:00 pm. Drove all day Saturday and Sunday in two cars with the boys, the dog and the lizard. Drive wasn't horrible, but was very long and tiring! The boys did great and only the last hour did I hear the "are we there yet" from Logan. They were real troopers.

We are renting a house in West Albuquerque that is great...I will post pictures soon of our trip here and the house. It is huge and has a BEAUTIFUL view of the mountains and city. We are blessed to have found it and that we can rent it month to month.

So some fiasco's...we thought Indy (the lizard) was dying...which if you know anything about Logan and this lizard it would have been catastrophic. He did good on the trip but once here, he (Indy) was in total shock and we thought for sure he was dying but thankfully he has recovered and Logan didn't think anything was out of the ordinary. Logan busted his lip open running to the door in the garage and scared us to death! But he is better now, had a fat lip for a couple days.

The movers arrived with all of our stuff on Thursday - so we were sleeping on air mattresses and sitting on camp chairs from Sunday until they got here. But everything arrived safely - only a few plates broken. We are still unpacking but are just about done.

The weather here is just as crazy as it is in Indiana except that it is incredibly dry! We had to buy a humidifier! AND it snowed, yes, snowed here on Thursday night/Friday morning. Crazy! It was freezing today as well but hopefully it will begin to warm up soon!

My dad was going to come for a surprise visit for the boys on Friday - he had hoped to make it here by dinner time, but he made it to Lupton AZ which is about 2 and 1/2 hours from here (near Gallup) and his car broke down - a caliper brake issue. So at about 10:00 pm on Friday we all headed out to get him and got home about 3:30 in the morning. It was good to see him, the boys were excited but it was a short visit that was a little stressful. He was worried about the car that we had to leave at the truck stop. Took him back today and he is staying in Gallup waiting for my brothers to come get him tomorrow and try and fix it as the Cadillac dealer was the only one with the part...and of course they were closed!

The boys start school tomorrow - registered them today before taking my dad to Gallup - they are excited, nervous but seem to be eager to get back to our new normal. They seem to be adjusting pretty well...please pray that school goes well for them and they meet friends quickly.

Whew, that is a lot already! :-) Rob is enjoying his new position, he is so excited to be back at work. I had an interview last Friday at an insurance broker and hope to hear on that soon - but still looking for a job in the meantime.

Not much else to report - at least not that I can think of right now after being in the car for about 6 hours again!

I hope everyone is doing well...we miss all of our friends in Indiana already...I had a bit of spat with God on Saturday about moving here and having no friends and wanted to come and sit in the corner and cry but he gently reminded me at church that everything will be just fine...He is always protecting my heart - I am so thankful.

Well - off to bed for the night! Be blessed my friends!

February Update

Well, another shot at this blogging thing! We are still living in New Albany, trying to patiently wait on what God has in store for us next! The Amarillo, TX church isn't a go which is ok with us! We are excitedly anticipating our trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico this weekend to visit Sagebrush Community Church. This one feels like the right one and so different from any ones that we have seen/talked to thus far. God has been teaching us so much through this time and we are trying to learn as much as we can.

We have started attending Sojourn Community Church in Louisville and love it. Much smaller church but truly awesome and God is actively at work there. Tyler still attends and is involved with the middle school at NCC but we have stopped attending. We are sad but know that this is just another part of God's plan.

February 3 marked 1 year since my mom went to heaven...it was a very sad day for me as I reflected back on her life and especially the last year of her life and the suffering she endured, but my wonderful friend Lori was quick to remind me that my mom is now in the presence of her Savior and the things of this world have quickly passed. I am so thankful she is no longer in pain! I miss her terribly but am still amazed at God's providential care for me - he has so protected my heart through this...I know it is God because otherwise I would be in a looney bin I think!

I recently became a Great Aunt AGAIN! My nephew Kenny (who is the Marines! so proud of him), became a daddy again in January to little Owen Michael - he now has 4 boys! Wow, he and Stephanie definitely have their work cut out for them!

Well I think that is all the news to share for now...can't wait to see what is next!
