Yummy New Recipe

So I follow a great Blog called Annie's Eats (http://annies-eats.com/) that has tons of yummy recipes. I tried one out last night - homemade pizza - crust and all! Annie has named it Spinoccoli Pizza as hers called for an alfredo sauce with spinach and broccoli. I made that one as well as one with just spinach and grilled chicken with the alfredo sauce and they both were yummy! Rob and the boys LOVED them as did I. You must visit her site and check out all her great recipes!

Indiana Move!

Wow has it really been over a YEAR since I last posted anything? So much has changed since then and my last post was about change as well! Our path these past couple of years has been a long and winding one but we are so thankful that it ended back in Indiana!

We are happily back in Southern Indiana after about a year and a half in the Land of Enchantment-New Mexico. Our time in Albuquerque was good, our jobs were great, we had a great house in a great neighborhood. We did make some great new friends while we were there and are so thankful and blessed by each and everyone one.

Although things were going well we just never felt like it was “home”. We had been praying for a while for God’s direction in what to do as our hearts just never left Indiana. When a dear friend of ours received a Lymphoma diagnosis it made us re-evaluate our life and what we wanted for our future and where we wanted to live and raise our kids.

After a trip back to Indiana over the summer, it became pretty clear what we needed to do and so we prayed for God’s direction and provision to get us back to what we consider “home” to be.

A quote by Steven Furtick kept resounding in my mind “If the size of the vision for your life is not intimidating to you, there’s a good chance it’s insulting to God.” This was a big vision for us! We decided to move without jobs and really knowing what we would do when we got here or where we would live. But we serve an amazing, gracious and loving God and he opened the flood gates and gave us the desire of our hearts.

We decided to tell the boys as soon as we had decided that we wanted to move back – we wanted them to be a part of this process – to be praying and see God at work. What an amazing thing it was for them to see God working and providing for us! And, they of course were over the moon happy to be coming back to their friends.

I told my boss first who did some pretty amazing things to create a position for me to work in the Louisville office. What a blessing this was! Then a Children’s Pastor position came up for Rob in New Albany! How crazy is that! We sometimes just sit back in awe of what God does! So of course Rob applied and we began the interview process right away! In the end he was blessed with an offer that we accepted!

So we firmly decided in June to move back and arrived happily back home in October. We decided to rent out our house in New Mexico as the real estate market is not great but will hopefully be better in a year and we will sell then.

It took us about 2 and a half days to drive from New Mexico to Indiana. Rob drove the huge moving truck and I drove his truck towing my car. It is always an adventure – especially with the lizard and the dog! But we made great time and it was an overall great trip.

We stayed with some awesome friends until the house we were renting was available next door to them. The boys are just so happy to be within walking distance of their best friends.

So now we are settling in to home, work and school and loving every minute of it and praising God each day. We are so thankful for God’s provision in all things and stand in awe of all He does.
